About FAV

The principal role of the Floorcovering Association of Victoria is to represent the Interests of the floorcovering industry in Victoria.

The Association was established in 1985 to represent the interests of carpet contractors in Victoria and was originally known as the Australian Carpet Contractors Association Inc.

As a result of a strategic review carried out in 2001 the Association changed it name to the Floorcovering Association of Victoria Inc, amended its rules to enable it to represent the whole industry - contractors, retailers, installers - and also involve suppliers (associate members) in its activities.

The major areas of focus for the Association during the past two years has been industrial relations representation and services, the development of a Code of Ethics and the promotion of the principle that floorcovering should only be installed by qualified installers.
